3 steps to get Discount Bunn Coffee Maker

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

You must admit that it is not easy to find discount in the market. It is not about not knowing where to go to for the discount but rather it is not knowing which is the lowest price. In this article, we are using discount bunn coffee maker, but I believe the process applies to any kitchen appliances.

Now, before the age of internet, if you want to get cheap stuff like in this case, discount bunn coffee maker, you can only rely on newspaper and perhaps magazines where they would advertise the various promotions. From there, you would compare the pricing and then go for the best buy.

Using the internet or rather the search engines, it is very easy for us to look for a good bargain. These search engines would group the best and most quality results into the front page, and all we need to do is to go through the top 10 results.

The search engines like Google and Yahoo is so smart that they would find the top 10 most popular searched websites with regards to the terms you would be using. For example, if you are looking for discount bunn coffee maker, then you would likely be using discount, cheap, promotion and Google and Yahoo would give you the most relevant results.

Personally, I don’t think you need to go beyond the top 10 results. This is because the top 10 results is enough to give you the coffee maker that you are looking for, because they are the most quality and popular sites that consumers goes to.

The next thing is of course to go into each of the site and note down the price for the bunn coffee maker that you would want to buy. But, the lowest price might not be the best bunn coffee maker discount. You need to note down all the freebies that they are giving you and also the warranty period and the things that you would need to buy.

This second step is to get you to see the whole package instead of just the pricing. To attract consumers, many companies have resorted to advertising very low pricing but charging consumers for other things to earn back the dollars.

One other thing to take note of in this step is to compare the delivery charges. Some delivery charges can be as high as 35% of the entire package, so the delivery charges can make a great difference in the pricing of your overall product.

It is to take notes in spreadsheet as it would be easier to check through which is the one that would providing the best value add. The best value might not be the lowest priced bunn coffee maker but it is definitely the one that would give you the most value.

When I mentioned not the lowest priced, some of you might get confused. But think it this way, a bunn coffee maker might be priced at $50 but with 1 year full warranty and then another bunn coffee maker is priced at $65 but comes with a 3 year full warranty. Now, don’t you think the latter gives you a better deal?

There you have it folks, 3 easy step to finding your discount bunn coffee maker.

Get Important Info About 8 Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Winter is upon us, which means that everyone is bundled up in sweatshirts and pajamas sitting in front of the television waiting for the snow outside to melt in 3 months. Getting into that bikini swim suit (and looking good in it) is probably not on the top of your priority list right now. That is OK. You have a little time to get in shape.

The problem with this way of thinking though, is that most people add fuel to the fire by eating junk food. Living a sedentary life, even if it is only for a few months, is bad enough. If you want to relax this winter, go for it! But at least eat properly. Here are 10 tasty and healthy snacks that are great for television downtime.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #1: Popcorn
You are better off skipping it at the movie theater, but at home you can prepare it in a healthy way. A bucket of oil-popped movie theater popcorn can contain as much fat as three to five double cheeseburgers. But air-popped popcorn is a relatively healthy treat. Three cups of popcorn have just 93 calories and 1.5 grams of fat.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #2: Pistachios
Pistachios are a great heart-healthy snack full of antioxidants, fiber, and good fats. A 1/2-cup serving only has 170 calories, with 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. However, that serving also has 14 grams of fat, so do not stuff yourself on them. They key here are the shells. Since they are difficult to open, more work is involved which will make you eat slower.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #3: Red Grapes
OK, you had to have known that fruits and vegetables would be on this list. As much as people want to avoid them these days, there will never be a processed snack food that will even come close to matching the nutrition and health benefits of fruits and vegetables. At the top of the pile is red grapes. Full of anti-oxidants and vitamins, red grapes are natures answer to sweet candy.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #4: Mini-pizzas
Forget the frozen food section on this one. Anyone with a toaster can make their own healthy version of frozen pizza. All you need is a whole wheat English muffin, tomato sauce and low-fat mozzarella cheese. The more vegetables and herbs you add to it, the healthier and tastier it will be.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #5: Pita chips With Hummus
This is another snack you must make on your own if you want it healthy. All you need is a large whole wheat pita. Cut the edge of the pita into chip-size pieces. and then cook them in the oven until crispy before serving with your favorite hummus or dip recipe. In general, when you rely on pre-packaged foods to do the work for you, the price you pay for it is your health.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #6: Relish Tray
Pickled vegetables are extremely low in calories and a great alternative to snacking on high fat, high sugar processed foods. Marinating your vegetables in vinegar or heart-healthy olive oil will control the amount of salt you eat. The reason fruits and vegetables accelerate weight loss is because they are water rich, which means you get a full, satisfied feeling without the calories.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #7: Green Tea
You may not think this is technically a snack, but the health benefits of drinking just one cup of green tea a day can allow you to splurge a little more than usual and still keep your figure in tact. The reason this works is because this beverage has been known to actually stimulate and accelerate a persons metabolism. At the same time it fills you up, so you have a more satisfied, healthy feeling.

Healthy Snacks for TV Couch Time #8: Protein Bars
This is the closest thing you will get to eating a chocolate candy bar that is relatively healthy. The best reason these are great for snacking is because they are not trigger foods like crackers and potato chips, so you will not want want to eat a lot at once. Protein helps build lean muscle mass, which is essential if you plan on being sedentary until the spring.

Not that this needs to be said, but you can enjoy even more snack food if you can work some exercise into your TV watching. Sit-ups and push-ups, or even getting up and moving around during commercials, will at least keep you more active. You can even burn calories just stretching out your body. Anything is better than sitting for hours without moving. You do enough of that at night when you are asleep.

Just because you want to stay in and relax does not mean you have to eat poorly. Replace your junk food cabinet with the foods listed above and when it comes time for the snow to melt, you will find that you will not have to work so hard at looking your best in that swimsuit. The key here is making an attempt to lead a healthy lifestyle all year around.

Red, Green, or Golden: An Apple a Day Contributes to Good Health

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

While an apple a day may not keep the doctor away forever, there’s no question that the crunchy goodness of this juicy fruit contributes to good health. In fact, apples are good for you in large part because they without harmful substances. They don’t have cholesterol, they don’t have salt, and they don’t have refined sugar. On top of that, they’re a great source of fiber, and contain vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, and potassium. Taken together, these qualities mean that apples can contribute to reducing the risk for cancers, heart disease, and hypertension. It’s important to note, though, that apple peel is rich in fiber and antioxidants, so try not to remove the skin before eating!

When it comes to selecting pomes, it’s important to examine them. Choose those that are free from soft spots, that don’t have breaks in the peel, and that smell nice. Once you get them home, refrigerate them to keep them fresh. Don’t store them next to garlic or other pungent foods, as apples will pick up odors. Before eating, wash apples under cool water to get rid of any pesticide residue.

There are literally hundreds of varieties of apples that are grown throughout America. With the resurgence in growing heirloom apples and the progress that’s been made in techniques for storing and shipping apples, you’re likely to find many kinds in your local market. Each type of apple has its own unique qualities, though, so it’s fun to try different varieties. Here are some of the tastiest:

  • Winesap: The rich red Winesap is the quintessential beautiful apple. With an extra firm texture and the tartness of some green varieties, they hold up well in fruit displays and are excellent to make into apple juice.
  • Golden Delicious: With a softer texture and more sweetness, the Golden Delicious is a bit more fragile than other varieties. These apples make great applesauce, and are great for baking and freezing.
  • Red Rome: The Red Rome is an old variety, but one that never goes out of style. Its mild tartness and firm texture make it the home cook’s favorite pome. For pies and other baked goods, the Red Rome is unparalleled.
  • Fuji: Like Gala apples, Fuji apples are gaining in popularity. Compared to Red Delicious, Fujis are sweeter and crisper. They’re reddish-pink in color and make terrific applesauce. They’re also a great addition to salads.
  • Granny Smith: In contrast to the sweetness of red apples, the gorgeous green Granny Smith exudes tartness. Still, the apples’ juiciness and crunchiness make them perfect for baking, pie making, and freezing.

Next time you’re tempted to grab a handful of cookies or munch on some chips, reach into the fridge and snag an apple instead. Your body will thank you!

Tasty Tidbits of Information about Juicy, Delicious Tomatoes

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

When it comes to produce, we eat more tomatoestomatoes than any other vegetable, except for potatoes, lettuce, and onions. Indeed, tomatoes are a central component to dozens of foods in our diet. We eat them sliced, with oil and vinegar. We eat them on salads. We put them on BLTs. We drink tomato juice. But they’re also an ingredient in a variety of dishes and cuisines. What would spaghetti sauce be without tomatoes? Or ketchup? Or the comforting warmth of tomato soup?

Although we eat copious quantities of tomatoes and tomato products, there are many interesting facts about the vermilion delicacy that escape the attention of most people. Here are some tasty tidbits about the tomato:

  • Tomatoes grown for processing have much thicker membranes and less water content.
  • Tomatoes that will be used for tomato products are usually processed within about six hours of harvesting.
  • There are two primary types of tomatoes grown in the U.S.: fresh tomatoes and processing tomatoes.

Tomatoes are not only a delectable addition to any meal, but they’re also good for you. They contain the antioxidant lycopene, are high in both vitamin C and vitamin A, and are a good source of dietary fiber.

Many people aren’t sure about the proper handling of tomatoes. If you buy them when they’re not quite ripe, you can put them in a lunch bag or in your cupboard to hasten the ripening process. Contrary to popular belief, you shouldn’t refrigerate tomatoes; leaving them out at room temperature helps keep them from spoiling. If you need to peel a tomato, the best method is to place it in boiling water for about 15 seconds, and then plunge it into ice water. This will make the skin slide right off. If you’ve purchased too many tomatoes, you can freeze them without cooking them first. Just wash them, cut out the stem, place them on a cookie sheet, and stick them in the freezer. Once they’re frozen, you can put them in a freezer bag and use them for cooking during the winter.

Whether you choose beefsteaks, romas, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, or any of the other 7,500 varieties that are grown today, tomatoes allow you to expand your culinary repertoire while providing the health benefits you need.

Wine Glasses Make The Occasion

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

There’s a reason why people drink wine out of wine glass%es. Did you ever wonder why, when you go into a restaurant, people drink wine out of certain glasses and not just any old glasses, such as the ones they drink soft drinks out of? It’s because wine glasses have a certain look about them. They hold a certain amount of status, a certain amount of class, and they make any occasion a fanciful one. So if you’re going to drink wine, never should you use just any old glass. Make sure you do the wine justice by drinking out of wine glasses.

Make Sure They Are Clean

This goes especially true if you are drinking from wine glasses at a restaurant. Next time you’re eating out and you’re drinking wine, take a look at the rim around your wine glasses. Are there any lipstick marks? Are there water spots or soap spots where the dishwasher didn’t do an adequate job? Not only is this disgusting, any type of dirt, grime or grease on a wine glass can take away from the taste of the wine. This is tragic, especially if the wine you’re drinking is expensive. You wouldn’t want to taint the taste of that great Citrus Wine so make sure you inspect your wine glasses thoroughly before drinking from them.

Holding Them

When holding your wine glasses, you typically want to hold it by the stem with the bowl of the glass held in your palm. Of course, there is no right or wrong way to hold a wine glass, as long as you can drink from it. But if you are looking to show off your etiquette skills, you should study up on the proper way to hold your wine glass so that you don’t spill while you’re drinking and so you don’t offend your host if it’s a fancy dinner party, for example.

Cleaning

When you’re cleaning your glasses, it’s best to clean them by hand. That’s because wine glasses are so fragile. Wine glasses cleaned in the dishwasher can easily become broken and most glasses for drinking wine are not cheap. So make sure you clean them by hand and do a good job so as not to leave any smudges or lipstick marks that were mentioned earlier.

There you have it. Drinking from wine glasses is a long held tradition. If you’re going to drink Fruit Wine, you should do it in the proper glass, such as one of the many different types of fancy looking wine glasses.

Grandmothers Loving Daughters in the Kitchen, Whatever

Mothers and Daughters in the Kitchen, Whatever

Let’s talk about mother-daughter days! Isn’t it cool to have a baking partner, someone to learn from, or someone to teach? There’s nothing better than a mother-daughter day in the kitchen. This kind of day with your special family member can be smooth and unforgettable. On the flip side, it can be a day of bickering and attitude checks. The difference in what type of fun filled day a daughter can have with a mother is age. What kind of day would this be for you?

A mother’s love is the best thing for a little girl who’s in the process of growing into a woman. Lessons received in the kitchen play an important role in training young ladies how to care for their families. Giving and teaching such skills is much easier in the earlier stages of your daughter’s life. How old were you when you learned how to shake and bake?

It’s a wise move to pull daughters into the kitchen before the teenager years occur. If not, there’s a chance that she may pick up other interest and sign up for other things to do while leaving all the cooking to mama. When this happens, most girls grow up not knowing how to cook. Oftentimes, it can take years before the young lady attempts to prepare a full cook meal. The Daughter’s Food Kitchen may be abandoned. Life circumstances like relationships, college, working, dating, shopping, and other chores can keep her away from the kitchen.

Mothers and Daughters in the Kitchen, Whatever

Martha Stewart and her daughter, Alexis Stewart has probably had plenty of bickering and unforgettable quality time in the kitchen. Alexis came out with a show on Fine Living entitled “Whatever Martha”. The show is said to be a mockery of her mother’s vintage Martha Stewart shows, but many fans appreciate it as a mother-daughter “keep it in the family” spin.

The way foods are cook in Mom’s Kitchen may differ to the way it’s done in the Daughter’s Kitchen. If you as a grandmother, or as a daughter, enjoy spending time in the kitchen with each other, then do it with care and open minds. So how about those attitude checks? Are you being nice? God knows how difficult it can be for two women to be in the same kitchen. But at the same time, it can be a precious sharing experience that can unveil new cooking tips as well as getting to knowyour mother or daughter better. The best advice is to compare and come to an concurrence on what tastes best, and what would make the best family recipe.

Acai – How Acai Can Boost Your Energy Levels

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Brazil is one of the richest countries in the world. It’s known as an ethanol-producing country. That they have been using Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-ee), a small berry fruit that’s mightier than blueberries, grapes, and apples has been Brazilians best kept secret that’s unknown to many. This super anti-oxidant fruit has been growing for centuries now in the wild river banks of the Great Amazon’s northern part. When all of the indigenous tribes had vanished to eternity, these native tribes survived all the ills brought about by civilization. What you should know is that they use acai in their traditional meals and mix it up with some organic seeds. They said that it has a caffeine-like effect. It perks them up and gives them a sharp mind. In the same way, acai was found out by the world’s famous food experts and scientists to boost the system’s energy levels. Acai health supplements and health drinks are now hot items among professional athletes and even body building enthusiasts for that reason.

Besides being a good source of carbohydrates and amino acids that help to shape up muscles and increase physical strength and endurance, Açaí is deemed the world’s super food for its unsurpassed high content of anti-oxidants. These bodies’ heroes that flush down harmful toxins and control radical cells from regenerating are called anti-oxidants. Premature aging and cancers of any kind are caused by radical cells. In fact, the tiny acai has an over-all effect on its regular users. Taking acai will make your skin supple and clean, as an after-effect of having a toxin-free system. Another part of the deal is your sexual health. Taking acai will increase libido and allows you a powerful performance because it has all the essential vitamins K, E, D and A. It also gives you a heightened sense of being. Preventing eye diseases as glaucoma and helping to maintain vision acuity are acai’s tasks.

Açaí benefits are many to tell. First off, if the French prided themselves of having red wine as a good heart ailment buster, wait till they use acai. Having between 10 to 30 more anti-oxidant anthocyanin counts, it’s known to be better than red wine. Furthermore, it also has rich protein content. It has vegetable protein which only nurtures good cholesterol and blocks off bad cholesterol from building up.

Having all these qualities might keep you asking what this native berry tastes like as health drink. Well, it’s like a chocolate-and-berry concoction. You might just drink it with a lick.

The Elmo Cake Pan – Use it to Create an Elmo Candy Plaque

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

E is for Elmo, and I’m talking about the Elmo face cake pan. You can bring Elmo’s World home with you in the form of an edible candy plaque using your Elmo cake pan. Here’s how…

Before you start, you’ll need one Elmo cake pan, one package of White Candy Melts, two packages of Red Candy Melts, orange and black candy colors, and disposable decorating bags.

Before you add any of the melted candy to the Elmo cake pan, you have to melt the White Candy Melt. Each package of Candy Melt is about 14 oz. Once the white candy is melted, divide it into thirds. One third you’ll leave white. One third you’ll add orange coloring, and one third you’ll add the black coloring.

Once you have these three colors, you’ll place the melted and tinted candy into disposable decorating bags (these are the same ones used to decorate cakes), cutting a hole at the bottom to release the candy as you squeeze the bag. You’ll be ready to start filling in the details of the Elmo cake pan.

Starting with the black candy, fill in the mouth, and pupils. Next, use the orange candy to fill in the nose. Refrigerate until firm. Once the candy is firm, take the Elmo cake pan out of the fridge and fill in the whites of the eyes. Refrigerate once again.

When the whites are firm, remove the pan from the fridge, and melt the 2 packages of Red Candy Melt. Mold the remainder of the face using the melted red candy. Please note that less than 1/2 the depth of the Elmo cake pan will be filled. This is normal.

Once the face is molded with the red candy, refrigerate until firm. After about 30 to 40 minutes, your candy Elmo should be ready to unmold. You’ll know that it’s ready because when sufficiently chilled, the candy plaque will release from the Elmo cake pan easily.

You will be able to unmold the finished product from the Elmo cake pan onto your hand, a soft towel or a waxed paper covered cake board. When you’re ready to serve, simply cut to size.

There you go. It’s so simple to bring the magic of Elmo home with these easy to follow instructions using your Elmo cake pan, and a few extras. Your kids will love how it looks, and how it tastes. Boston’s long tradition of hotel fine dining is refreshingly updated at the Four Seasons, where Aujourd’hui has been reinvented to attract younger patrons. There’s no more jacket-and-tie dress code and the menu has been developed by 31-year-old chef William Kovel, whose r?sum? includes stints at Jardini?re in San Francisco and Radius in Boston. Kovel’s cuisine is deft, delicious, and not at all stuffy. Good-bye beef Wellington. Hello seared Thai snapper in Asian-spiced lobster consomm?, grilled rib eye with roasted poblanos and chimichurri, and veal chop with creamed leeks and gnocchi. Every Tuesday, there’s a reasonable $45 prix-fixe wine-tasting dinner. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the interior: With its yellow-and-blue carpeting, mirrored shutters, and window view of the public garden, the room remains gorgeous.

Ken Oringer is one of Boston’s busiest chefs, with Toro tapas bar, La Verdad taqueria, and KO Prime steakhouse. Oringer’s empire began at Clio, a contemporary French-American restaurant, and it remains closest to his heart. Oringer is still in the kitchen making dishes like butter-basted lobster, allspice-crusted venison, and caramelized swordfish au poivre—food that’s uncommonly pretty and delectable. The 65-seat restaurant with its taupe banquettes, faux-leopard carpet, and dramatic flower arrangements is a chic setting for such luxurious fare. Walk downstairs to Uni sashimi bar and you can try the highly recommended fish tacos and grilled Kobe beef.

You might not expect a guy named Tim Cushman to make world-class sushi, but—after working with Nobu Matsuhisa and Roy Yamaguchi—he is now a master. As a result, there’s often a wait at his 40-seat contemporary Japanese restaurant, located in a cozy, quiet converted firehouse. Cushman’s small plates of sushi, sashimi, Kurobuta pork, poulet rouge chicken, and Wagyu beef are as delicious as they are beautiful (and expensive). Cushman serves raw sea urchin on sea-urchin mousse, tops foie gras with chocolate and raisin jam, and dishes up a robiola-stuffed omelet in a pool of truffled dashi. Wife Nancy is the sake sommelier. O ya means “gee whiz” in Japanese. That’s an understatement.

Gabriel Bremer and Analia Verolo have captured the city’s hearts and stomachs—he with his French-inspired modern American menu and she with her sweet, front-of-the-house management style. You’ll feast on dishes like truffle-poached sturgeon, black trumpet-dusted lamb loin, or diver scallops and braised pork belly. The tiny dining room—filled with flowers and baskets of fruit—feels like the couple’s home and you’ll feel like a welcome guest.
